Unbuilt

An expansion of the existing CNY Biotech Accelerator in Syracuse, NY is needed to house the growing programs within the existing building and to best position Upstate Medical University for the future by allowing it to accommodate some of the most promising med-tech startups in the industry.

We worked with the CNYBAC team, potential future tenants for the building including a biosciences company and an autism research and therapy program to create a spatial program and test fit for the proposed new expansion. Our proposal included a 130,000 SF new building adjacent to the existing CNYBAC to house, additional incubator BSL2 lab space, clinical and educational space for the Autism Center of Excellence, and 4 floors of additional lab and administrative space for the biosciences tenant. There is also space available for future uses, a large outdoor recreation space, unique to the urban location of the site, to be used by the building tenants. A redesigned entry and parking accommodations for both the existing CNYBAC and the proposed expansion.

The project is currently under development with the university and further design and construction is expected soon.
